Bennett Motor Express Selects 2011 Drivers of the Year
General Freight and Heavy Haul Division Owner/Operators Honored
ATLANTA, March 9, 2012
Specialized freight transporter Bennett Motor Express (BME) announced the winners of its 2011 Drivers of the Year. The annual awards honor the company’s owner/operators who earn the highest safety and performance ratings throughout the year.
General Freight Driver of the Year: Darren McClure, Hiawassee, Ga., joined Bennett Motor Express in 2005, and was previously honored with the April 2011 General Freight Division Driver of the Month award. McClure also serves as BME’s Driver Advisory Board chairman. As chairman, he serves as an advisor and representative for the company’s contractors.
Heavy Haul Driver of the Year: Joseph Basham of Whitwell, TN leased onto Bennett Motor Express as an owner/operator in 2006, and was previously honored with the January 2011 Heavy Haul Division Driver of the Month award.

The two winners were selected from among BME's nearly 600 owner/operators, based on their safe driving history, customer service record, and total number of years driving. Each winner will receive several prizes including a plaque, custom jackets and apparel.
