Violet Helferich Receives SC&RA Driver of the Year Award

March 8, 2018

(MCDONOUGH, GA., March 8, 2018) –Violet Helferich of Bennett Motor Express/Ace Doran Hauling & Rigging has received the Driver of the Year Award from the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) at the 2018 Specialized Transportation Symposium, Feb. 27-March 2 in St. Louis, MO. SC&RA is an international organization comprised of more than 1,350 members from 46 nations.

The SC&RA Driver of the Year Award is given to a driver who completes five consecutive accident-free years of driving along with demonstrating highway courtesy and providing outstanding contributions to the safety culture within their company.

Bennett Motor Express has won several safety awards over the years in recognition of their ongoing commitment to make safety and compliance a top priority.  They are recognized as one of the safest, most responsible carriers in the industry, cultivating a safety culture that consistently meets and exceeds regulatory compliance standards.

Firms across the United States and around the world submit dozens of entries to the SC&RA Awards competition each year. The Awards program recognizes worldwide excellence in the crane, rigging and specialized transportation industry.

“We are all so proud of Violet for all of her accomplishments as a driver for Bennett and Ace Doran; especially her impeccable safety record” said Marcia Taylor, CEO and Chair of Bennett. “The respect she has gained with this award and as a female driver amongst her peers out on the road is very special and a tribute to her dedication to being the best.”

Throughout her career, Helferich has demonstrated her dedication to safety, leadership and quality service. Steve LeClair, an agent with Ace Doran and Violet’s direct supervisor, stated. “Violet’s been with us for about 2 years and she’s been nothing but pleasant to work with. She’s always there to help, and even took her kids with her during their spring break just to help out with an extra route.”

As a group leader and proud member of the Women in Trucking Association, Helferich is honored to receive the 2018 Driver of the Year Award but also recognizes the team effort behind her success. “We work together as a family and as a team. I’m there with the maps and permits and to help survey the routes, but everyone’s involved,” said Helferich.
