Bennett Motor Express (BME) and Bennett Heavy & Specialized (BHS) are pleased to be a part of the SmartWay® Transport Partnership with a mission to move goods in the cleanest and most efficient way possible.
SmartWay is an EPA program that reduces transportation-related emissions by creating incentives to improve supply chain fuel efficiency. The program, launched in 2004, includes the reduction of both greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution.
Comprised of four components, the SmartWay Transport Partnership, includes freight carriers and shippers with a commitment to benchmark operations, track fuel consumption, and improve performance on an annual basis.
As a SmartWay Transport Partner, tractors and trailers meet the voluntary equipment specifications that can reduce fuel consumption by 10 to 20 percent for 2022 long-haul tractors with each qualified tractor/trailer combination potentially saving between 2,000 to 4,000 gallons of diesel per year thus saving money while reducing greenhouse-gas emissions and air pollutants.
BME and BHS are proud to be among the approximately 3,700 SmartWay Transport partners making a difference in the environment.
