In March 2024, amidst the picturesque vineyards of Chateau Élan in Braselton, GA, a jubilant celebration unfolded, marking a milestone in the world of business. Surrounded by esteemed family, employees and agents, Marcia G. Taylor commemorated an extraordinary 50-year journey as a pioneering female owner and leader in logistics and transportation. Against the backdrop of accolades and heartfelt tributes, attendees reveled in the rich history of heartaches and triumphs woven throughout Taylor’s career.

From humble beginnings, to the building of a diverse family of companies, her unwavering dedication, innovative spirit, and unwavering commitment to her core values have left an indelible mark on those who have worked with her. As glasses clinked and applause resounded, the celebration served not only as a testament to Taylor’s remarkable accomplishments but also as an inspiration for generations of the Bennett Family to dream big and defy limits.

Sudden Loss

J.D. Garrison became very ill and passed away unexpectedly, in 1981. At this point Marcia had to make one of the hardest decisions of her life: close the doors of Bennett or carry on with the vision that had carried them this far. With the support of friends, family and loyal employees the vision was carried into the future.

Building Growth

By 1981, G.B.M.E had outgrown their facilities on Highway 81 in McDonough, Georgia. A few miles from the original location, on Industrial Parkway, a new 4,000 square foot corporate headquarters and repair facility was built.
