Bennett Family of Companies’ freight agents, field offices and company employees gathered for Bennett’s Ft. Worth Symposium held on March 9-11th at the beautiful Omni Hotel in Ft. Worth, Texas, for the second consecutive year.
The weekend officially kicked off on Thursday evening with a fun-filled “Wild West” themed welcome reception. Attendees wore their favorite cowboy boots and enjoyed a night of music, drinks, food, dancing, and networking.

Friday morning began with a Welcome Program for the various business units attending the event to learn more about some of the exciting initiatives that Bennett is a part of. This year’s theme “Building the Future Together!” concentrated on how we will build success as a company in 2023. Bennett Family of Companies CEO, Marcia G. Taylor shared some of the outstanding accomplishments that Bennett recorded during 2022 and how we plan on building the future together in 2023.

President and Chief Financial Officer, David Pittman, moderated a discussion with David Lowry and Danny Lowry, owners of Bennett, during the Welcome Program. They spoke about some of the new and exciting endeavors for Bennett this year and where we see the company growing in the future. Lynette Mathis, Vice President of Bennett, shared information about Bennett making its NASCAR debut with Austin Hill and the No. 21 team in the Bennett Transportation and Logistics car in the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series with Richard Childress Racing. Also, Alena Andrews, Social Media Content Specialist, spoke on Bennett’s Women in the Driver’s Seat program and some of the new initiatives that will be implemented over the course of the year.

Afterwards, David Pittman, spoke about some of our great financial achievements in 2022, where we rank among competitors in the industry, and how we can continue to make significant marks as a company financially.
The afternoon included business unit break-out sessions for employees and agents to attend and discuss pertinent objectives for their business unit. Some of these breakout sessions were focused on a few company initiatives for 2023 that included Bennett University, Project Fuel Tank and One to One Health. In addition, there were a few topical discussions on retention, recruiting, technology, BridgeHaul and brokerage that pertained to those attending the event.

The success of the Bennett Family of Companies is because of the wonderful owner-operators, agents, field offices and employees who work so hard each year. On Friday afternoon, the Special Recognition/Awards Program, highlighted certain individuals of the Bennett Family of Companies by recognizing their amazing accomplishments in 2022.

Richard Miller, President of BOSS, was recognized for winning the Field Office Leader of the Year for 2022.
The Ft. Worth Symposium ended with dinner at the infamous Cooper’s Old Time Pit BBQ and then a fun evening as VIP guests at Cowtown Coliseum where attendees watched a Championship Rodeo.
