Bennett Recognized as a Top Woman-Owned Business in Transportation
August 2, 2023
MCDONOUGH, GA (August 2, 2023) – The Women in Trucking Association (WIT) announced that the Bennett Family of Companies has been recognized as a Top Woman-Owned Business in Transportation by Women in Trucking’s Redefining the Road magazine.
The list was developed in 2018 to recognize women in leadership and encourage more women to become proactive leaders in their organizations – and even start their own businesses. Those who make the list are impressive, high-growth companies that are led by innovative, resourceful female pioneers in the transportation industry. The program supports WIT’s overall mission: To encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments, and minimize the obstacles they face.
“By recognizing these 2023 Top Woman-Owned Businesses in Transportation, we can share their stories and highlight their successes. As the number of women that lead these firms increases, we are pleased to give them the recognition they deserve,”
said Jennifer Hedrick, WIT President, and CEO
Companies included on this list met certain criteria that includes majority ownership by a woman, financial stability and growth, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit. Each company was also chosen based on business success and accomplishments that foster gender diversity.
“Recipients of the 2023 Top Woman-Owned Businesses in Transportation are among an elite group of companies that have demonstrated their commitment to gender diversity in their corporate strategy,”
says Brian Everett, Group Publisher, and Editorial Director for Redefining the Road magazine
“While having a majority ownership by a woman or multiple women is a key requirement to be acknowledged for this award, we also look at financial stability and growth of these minority-owned companies. We continue to encourage women who have an entrepreneurial spirit and leadership skills to take the plunge in owning their own businesses.”
“It is an honor to be recognized as one of sixteen companies as a Top Woman-Owned Business in Transportation. We are thankful for the Women in Trucking Association and the fact that this wonderful organization advocates for women in our industry. WIT is doing their part to elevate trucking and logistics as great industries for women to thrive in,”
said Marcia Taylor, CEO of Bennett Family of Companies
Bennett will be recognized during a special program at the 2023 Women in Trucking Accelerate! Conference & Expo, Nov. 5-8th in Dallas, Texas. For the full list of other companies recognized by WIT, visit www.womenintrucking.org.
