Austin Hill and the No. 21 Team Win Second NASCAR Xfinity Series Race in the Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet at Atlanta Motor Speedway
July 13, 2022
MCDONOUGH, GA (July 13, 2022) – Austin Hill and the No. 21 Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet Camaro team celebrated a victory this past weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. As he won his second race of the season with Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Bennett employees, customers, agents, and drivers cheered on Hill during the Alsco Uniforms 250 on Saturday, July 9.
Austin Hill wins the Alsco Uniforms 250 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, GA.
With Hill being a native of Georgia and Atlanta Motor Speedway located near Bennett headquarters in McDonough, Georgia, it made the win even more memorable.
Bennett revealed to fans at Saturday’s race its new “Race Truck,” a 2023 Freightliner Cascadia, wrapped to match Austin Hill and the No. 21 Bennett Transportation and Logistics Chevrolet.
In addition, Bennett had a booth in the FanZone at Atlanta Motor Speedway with many activities alongside the racetrack. While Austin Hill’s meet and greet appearance at the booth was canceled due to the rain, the weather did not stop Bennett Motor Express CEO, David Lowry, from taking his “Whiskey Chariot” motorized cooler for a spin in the FanZone for curious onlookers to enjoy.
Bennett customers and agents enjoyed the full race experience in Bennett’s condo along with employees and drivers watching Hill in the grandstands at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Bennett VIP guests were also treated to a unique behind-the-scenes access at the race, including Terry and Cindy Richards, new-to-Bennett truck drivers who won a VIP Experience Giveaway.
Some of Austin Hill’s career accomplishments so far include:
He won his second career race with RCR in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway in July 2022.
He won his debut race with RCR in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Daytona International Speedway in February 2022.
He spent five full seasons in the NASCAR Truck Series and captured eight wins, 27 top fives, 52 tops 10s and three pole awards in his series career.
In 2020, Hill won the Truck Series regular-season championship title and accumulated two wins, 11 top fives, and 17 top 10s on the season.
He got his first Truck Series win at Daytona International Speedway in 2019 and went on to win three more times that season.
“I don’t even know where to start. I grew up racing here on the quarter-mile track when I was about eight years old. I have a lot of laps around that place and a lot of wins and memories. To finally win on the big track is great. I feel like it owed me one. To finally get it done means a lot. Our Bennett Chevrolet was on rails. It was probably one of the best cars I’ve ever had; the things I could do with that car, the lines I could run and just control the front. Whenever I wanted to get to the lead, I felt like I could. My spotter, Derek (Kneeland) told me that if I could get the lead on that last restart, to go get it, and control the race. To win at a place that I grew up racing at, I can’t really put into words. It’s just so special. It’s top on the list of wins for me right now, and definitely something I’ll remember for the rest of my career.”
Austin Hill, NASCAR Xfinity Series No. 21 driver, after his second win of the season at Atlanta Motor Speedway, said
Hill’s next race will be the NASCAR Xfinity Series Crayon 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire, on Saturday, July 16.
