The facility will be a cross-dock warehouse built with tilt wall construction consisting of 524,700 square feet of floor area. The building will be 1,248 feet in length, 420 feet in depth and 32 feet in height. The truck courts on each side of the building will be 180 feet across and will allow for up to 300 additional trailer parking spaces. The main entrance will come from John Deere Parkway with a drive that will circle the entire property. In addition to the warehouse there will be approximately 2,500 square feet of office area built inside of the warehouse. The land site consists of approximately +/- 43 acres.
Danny Lowry, a partner in Hoback Investments LLC, said in addition to the many features of the facility, the location will give customers a strategic advantage in a growing county.
“Three years ago we examined the market and identified the need for warehouse space in Columbia County to support the growing number of manufacturers in the Augusta area,” Lowry said. “The 233 Warehouse facility will provide cross-dock and storage capabilities to service multiple customers in a flexible space for the existing manufacturer base in the Augusta market and will attract new business to Columbia County and the surrounding area.”
Once complete, this new facility will be the largest industrial warehouse built in Columbia County, and one of the largest throughout our region.
According to Chairman Ron Cross, Columbia County Board of Commissioners, “This addition to our industrial area is another tribute to the growth of our county and our desire to meet the needs of present and new industry and also to add jobs for our citizens. Congratulations to Hoback Investments and thanks for choosing Columbia County.”
Mark Wills, Chairman of the Development Authority of Columbia County stated, “Today’s groundbreaking signifies the opportunity available to businesses in Columbia County. On behalf of the Development Authority of Columbia County, I would like to say thank you to Hoback Investments for their investment in our community. The Development Authority is committed to continuing to work with Hoback Investments’ team as this project continues and once the facility is in operation.”
