Members of Bennett's Emergency Rapid Response Team (BERRT) Are Honored for Saving a Driver's Life
MCDONOUGH, GEORGIA (August 8, 2024) – The Bennett Emergency Rapid Response Team (BERRT) was established in 2018 to ensure a team of Home Office employees were trained and prepared to take action should any dangerous or emergency situations occur at or near the work place. Each member of BERRT regularly takes tactical training to ensure they are at their best at any given time.
Marcia G. Taylor and Regina Auletta came together following a dangerous occurrence near the Home Office to put these measures in place and create a team of volunteers best suited to keep employees safe and comfortable at work. Though emergency response is not needed often, members of BERRT recently had to jump into action.
BERRT Team
On May 10 at 7:59 a.m., an employee contacted Jessica Mills, BERRT Team command staff and former helicopter mechanic in the U.S. Marine Corps, to alert her that one of our Bennett drivers was not feeling well. Jessica found him unresponsive in his truck and immediately acted. She checked his vitals, including his blood sugar, and noticed he was incoherent.
With the assistance of Luke Gaouette, BERRT member and former PATRIOT Missile Operator in the U.S. Army, they moved the driver to a safer location. When the driver stopped breathing and lost his pulse, Luke administered CPR. Thanks to their quick and effective actions, he was revived and taken to Piedmont Hospital by Henry County EMS. Jessica also contacted the driver’s wife to update her on the situation.

The driver’s life was saved by these BERRT members who selflessly jumped into action and Bennett is proud to have a team of such strength and bravery.
“I am happy to advise that this Bennett driver is doing well. I am proud of each member of BERRT and their prompt, professional response to save lives and provide a safe working environment each day”
